the screw holes on kit don't match screw holes on microwave. best buy installers have been out to my house 3 times and every tech has said the same thing. " microwave and trim kit dont match. i finally got it installed after doing some rigging.
i love the microwave, but i wish i didn't have to deal with installation nightmare.

wish i had seen ianw review below. we had exactly the same issue. after 3hr wait for a call back and 1hr on the phone, samsung was unable to help and "had never heard of this issue before". clearly they are not reading these reviews. stay away from this trim kit and the microwave. we'll stick with trusty lg appliances in future.

this trim kit, in theory, is great. the issue that a lot of people are having is that the instructions describe mounting it to a screw on the bottom middle of the microwave. unfortunately, the microwave only has 1 side screw, located at the front. it is nowhere near the brackets mounting hole.
you can rig it by removing the front screw and using a provided screw to clamp it over the top lip but it clearly is not correct.
a great deal of other consumers have the same issue as you will read online. possibly from a design change.
the mind boggling part is samsung support instructs me to contact the seller, home depot. they refuse to support their own trim kit and microwave!!! home depot is not the manufacturer and has no idea how to remedy the issue.

the black ss trim kit is too difficult to install. if you are off with you measurements by a fraction of an inch then you will not be able to install the trim. also, good luck finding any online assistance in figuring out how the template is supposed to be used or finding someone who can finish the install for me. this is the most frustrating thing i have had to endure in a long time. will really re-consider buying anymore samsung appliances.

I'm not understanding why the trim kit comes in SS only. All of my appliances are black SS made by Samsung. Not the best idea to only offer SS. Microwave to big to sit on counter and the sides of MW are not finished. It's going back to the store.

Be aware! If you endup using the included template you are going to ruin your cabinet forever. Dimensions are incorrect and way too big. Do manual calculations and disregard included template unless you want to over cut your cabinet beyond repair.
Luckily I have a lot experience in installations so I was able to avoid damaging my cabinets.
Quality is not too bad but not great, just average for stainless steel.

I love this product. I've done a lot of research before purchasing this item. It has literally taken the place of my toaster oven, toaster, rice cooker - so much clean space now on my counter top! I don't even use my regular oven anymore, because I love the convection feature of this appliance!!! And I don't need the frying pan anymore because of the Slim Fry feature - Love it!
