I like this Refrigerator. I'm very happy with the capacity, the design for that capacity (meaning it's well laid out, and not just a big cavern where the food at the back turns to ice or fungus), the interior lighting, how quiet it is, and hopefully how long it will last - if our prior kitchenaid is any guide. I also like the freezer. My only irritation, and it's minor, is the ice box. It's a bit difficult to extract, and to put back in. I do not have the ice dispenser in the door, which is great because we get more door capacity.

Hate reviewing things until I know how they will hold up -- but the first impression is very good. Every time my husband opens it, he says, "I LOVE the new refrigerator!" We went to the appliance store thinking Subzero, or possibly our last brand, GE Monogram. I would have just bought the best looking suite of appliances of a respected name, by my CPA husband examined them all in DETAIL. The things he really liked about the KitchenAid was the fingerprint resistant surface (yep, he finger printed them all -- which knocked Monogram off the list), and the great interior lighting (dark freezer compartment killed-off Subzero). We were buying all new appliances, so the fact that the matching KitchenAid dishwasher is the best out there (it actual DRIES the dishes) sealed the deal. The regular KitchenAid microwave had poor customer ratings, but the one with the fold-down door was highly rated (and ended-up looking much better -- no funky trim kit required), and matched the built-in oven. Only one negative with the new refrigerator -- it needs one (or even two) extra door shelves in the freezer. Went online to try to buy an extra one and they are not available for sale.

I adore this refrigerator. We literally designed our kitchen around it. It has tons of room. The ice maker is my favorite. Always have plenty of ice. It runs very quite. No complaints at all.

I replaced a 25 year old GE Monogram with this fridge of the same depth and width. It doesn't seem to be arranged as well inside and I will have to learn how to best arrange the interior . The ice maker is nice but the freezer also doesn't hold as much as my Monogram did.

Great expectations

We looked forward to the installation of our new KitchenAid as it was to be a major item in the modernization of our kitchen. Upon its arrival and installation we were delighted to find that it was even more than we had anticipated. Our cabinetmaker installed the custom doors along with the custom handles we selected and it is simply beautiful. The design is well thought-out, and the fact that it is not as deep as our previous refrigerator yielded an even greater surprise as how much larger our kitchen became with the refrigerators less deep foot print. Our home is an historic home and it was important to us to be able to make the refrigerator "disappear" into the cabinets and look appropriate to the 1700's. All in all, we are absolutely delighted and very pleased that this is the brand and model we chose. We highly recommend this product.
