VERY disappointed!!

I bought this VERY expensive refrigerator/freezer for $10, 539 April 18, 2019 and in less than 6 months, we came home to the freezer frozen over with icicles descending from each shelf and the ice maker no longer working. The warranty service has been out twice and it still is not fixed. I called Kitchenaid and I was to have the top technician here today and they have no record of an appointment for us.

Not spacy for its size. The fridge door should be opened 90 degrees for the lights to turn on. I purchased all five major appliances for my kitchen from KitchenAid but the customer service is unhelpful, unfriendly, and poor. Bad experience, would not buy from KitchenAid again.

Ice maker functions poorly

The ice dispensing (flapper) door stays open several seconds after the ice is dispensed, letting in warm air, so the ice left in the bin tends to melt, then freeze and get stuck. It has frozen solid twice, necessitating emptying the entire bin and thawing it out. Service replaced the motor and the dispensing door, but apparently the delay cannot be corrected. Also, when dispensing cubes, a lot of little pieces fly out, onto the floor and the drip tray, necessitating clean-up nearly every time. The water dispenser is fine. There is a filter for the ice and water that needs to be replaced every six months; an annoying red light goes on, in addition to an email notice. The frig part us OK, except that the contents of one drawer froze, despite not being on the lowest setting. With such an expensive appliance, I would expect better design. Our 25-year-old similar model worked better until it died. I would not buy this model again.

We put in this fridge after a kitchen expansion and remodel. After lots of brand research decided on this Kitchenaid model. We love the size and functionality. The temperature control is way better than our last LG fridge. For the price I am slightly disappointed in some of the cheap plastic pieces inside such as the middle drawer- feels cheap and comes out of alignment easily. Overall I am super happy with it and would definitely recommend it!

This refrigerator looks great! However, it is very small inside. The shelves are shallow and do not hold much. The freezer is tiny!!! But the MOST frustrating thing about it is the water dispenser is so small most of our glasses do not fit!!!! Ridiculous!!

Bought to replace my Viking 48 inch side-by-side. First Kitchenaid fridge which was installed just got hotter and was obviously defective. This was replaced by my dealer a week later and within 2 days, a part broke in the hinge resulting in loss of the light in the freezer. Has Kitchenaid stopped all quality control of their fridges? Nice fridge when it is working properly but I am still waiting.

I have had this built/in side by side fridge for over a month. I am very pleased with it. The drawers work well, the shelves are very functional for all the various foodstuffs we keep in it. With 6 grandkids coming and going, the outside water and ice dispenser is essential and it doesn't clog! Even my kids noticed the new refrigerator and commented on how nice looking it is. Very happy, esp since it was much better price than some of its competition!

This refrigerator was purchased to replace a 22 year old Thermador that actually had cabinet panels on the front....I was worried that I might not like the new one as much. BUT I love it!!! It is a sleek beauty! It makes my kitchen look so modern and a bit industrial. It is extremely quiet. Love that it has an electronic type eye that lets the ice maker know that the bin is full so I don't have to do that myself. The LED lights eliminate so well...the food keeps wonderfully. Just live everything about this product!!
